Not long ago, building a truly high-power amplifier meant making real compromises. To deliver 350 watts into 8 ohms and 700 watts into 4 ohms, you needed enormous power transformers, vast electrical storage, and acres of heat sinking. Efficiency was poor, heat was relentless, and without fans, the only solution was sheer size and mass. The result was an amplifier that was heavy, expensive, and often large enough to sit on the floor as a statement piece. Some sounded wonderful. Others less so. But they all shared one thing: brute force came at a very high cost. Then things began to change. Forward-thinking engineers started asking better questions. This approach delivers the benefits of Hypex’s latest X technology and sound quality at the most accessible price point to date.More about NCore XSince its introduction in 2011, Hypex NCore technology has been a benchmark for high-performance Class D amplification. While NCore set an exceptionally high standard, Hypex’s continued pursuit of improvement ultimately led to Nilai, their most advanced Class D platform to date.Key elements of Nilai, most notably the improved loop filter, were subsequently applied to NCore to create NCore X. This refinement increased loop gain by 6 dB in the top two octaves, with additional gain below that range. The result gave designers greater flexibility to optimize performance while maintaining exemplary audio fidelity.NCore X delivers more than 60 dB of error correction across the entire audio band, significantly reducing distortion from both the power stage and output filter. With more than 75 dB of loop gain, harmonic and intermodulation distortion are driven to ultra-low levels, and output impedance becomes essentially negligible. Hypex is a premier designer and OEM supplier for class-D power amplifier modules. The Stereo X power amplifier utilizes the exact same power amplifier section we designed into the Carina X (2 modules and 1 power supply). And the Mono X utilizes the NCore X 500 module but adds a dedicated power supply for each channel (1 module and 1 power supply) for even more power.More about NCore XSince its inception in 2011, the Hypex NCore technology has been a leader in high-performance Class D amplification. While it set a high standard, Hypex’s continuous pursuit of improvement eventually led to Nilai — their most advanced Class D technology. Elements of Nilai, particularly the improved loop filter, were applied to NCore to create NCore X. This refinement increased loop gain by 6dB in the top two octaves and added some additional gain below that. This gave designers more leeway to optimize various parameters while retaining exemplary audio performance.
